It is nearly ten years since the VDS was published. The experience of using it to review and respond to planning applications recently created a discussion as to whether the VDS fully addressed the scenarios encountered and if it is appropriate for addressing future applications. In 2017 the committee discussed and published policy clarification notes, which are consistent with the approach taken over recent years and which also consider potential future scenarios. Land adjacent to Mandai, St Peters Road - Use of Land for touring holiday/tourism caravan site and erection of utility block (Resubmission).

Northney Farm, St Peters Road - Retrospective application for agricultural maize silage clamp and 3 metre high walls with safety rail.

23 Spinnaker Grange - Single storey rear extension and timber cladding.

Eastney Farmhouse, St Peters Road - Listed Building application for demolition of existing porch and construction of replacement porch and fenestration to Eastney Farmhouse. Replacement fenestration to ancillary building 'The Pigsty'.

5 Spinnaker Grange - Single storey rear extension with balcony area to first floor.

Land at Northney Marina - Retrospective application for use of land for siting of temporary brokerage office and 3No. storage units for 3 years. (Revised scheme to Planning Permission APP/18/00423).

The Langstone Hotel, Northney Road - Erection of modular clad portable building for health and wellness activities.

Meadow Farm Nursery, Woodgaston Lane - Re-siting of scaffold yard approved under planning permission APP/18/01263.

Seacrest, Gutner Lane - Garage conversion to annexe. External alterations to main dweling.

Broad Oak, Copse Lane - Erection of boundary fence and 2.No new access/crossovers from Copse Lane.

17 Spinnaker Grange - First floor side extension incorporating new front gable, single storey rear extension with balcony over.

Antrims Barn, St Peters Road - Construction of detached 3 bay garage with room above. (Resubmission)

Northney Marina - Temporary siting of 2No. storage containers for a 3 year period.(Renewal of planning permission reference APP/16/00256)

The Barn,Meadow Farm Nursery,Woodgaston Lane - Raise ridge height of roof to incorporate living accommodation at first floor level to include 3No. dormers.

Leisurelands, Gutner Lane - Remove lower westerly facing branch of 1No. Oak (T96) over driveway and reduce 2No. lowest westerley branches by 1.5m to balance the tree. Subject to TPO 0567.

Church Farm, Church Lane - Reduce height of 3No. Cherry trees (T1, T2 and T3) and crown reduce 1No. Silver Birch tree (T4) within Conservation Area St Peters.

Marita, Gutner Lane - Erection of car port to north side of house.

Leisurelands, Gutner Lane - Fell 1No Oak (T56). Subject to TPO 0567.

Meadow Farm Nursery, Woodgaston Lane - Continuation of use of land in south west corner of nursery as a scaffold yard.

1 Myrtle Cottages, St Peters Road - Reduce top 6No.Leylandii by 1-2m, reduce south side of hedge 1-2m as needed; Reduce overall 2No. Yew by 0.6m overall to old pruning points; Reduce overall 1No. Elderberry by 1m to old pruning points; Reduce overall 1No.Field Maple by 2.5m to re shape, remove lowest large stem situated in the north west sector of outer canopy and remove 1 x smaller stem north east sector and crown lift to 2.6m; Crown lift 3No.Oaks to 2.6m, reduce by 1.5m-2.5m overall to improve shape; Reduce 1No Beech by 1.5-2.5m overall to reshape, crown lift to 2.5m; Reduce top 1No. Cedar by 1m and crown lift to 1m. Remove any dead, crossing or epicormic branches as necessary from all above trees. All within Conservation Area of St Peters.

Rear of Cranbrook Villa, Copse Lane - Erection of 2No. 3bed bungalows with associated parking and access from Copse Lane.
