It is nearly ten years since the VDS was published. The experience of using it to review and respond to planning applications recently created a discussion as to whether the VDS fully addressed the scenarios encountered and if it is appropriate for addressing future applications. In 2017 the committee discussed and published policy clarification notes, which are consistent with the approach taken over recent years and which also consider potential future scenarios. South Winds, Woodgaston Lane - Crown raise to 4m clearance, 9No. Oaks (T1-T9 on plan - line of oaks adjacent to drive way) . Subject to TPO 0567.

Northney Farm Tea Rooms, St Peters Road - Single storey extension for extended toilet facilities.

1 Church Orchard, St Peters Road - Single story rear extension.

Northney Marina - Relocation of existing temporary office and community units plus associated works, to have a lifespan of approximately 3 years.

Salt Shack, Northney Marina - Retention of Salt Shack Cafe and external terrace area.

2 St Peters Avenue - 1no. Bay Tree (T1 on plan) - Fell and remove, subject to TPO 1513.

Rhu House, Woodgaston Lane - Proposed front porch.

30 Northney Road - Construction of rear first floor balcony.

Maytime, St Peters Road - Crown reduce width of 1No. Cypress Leylandii by 2m (southern sector) to leave crown width of 3m. Within conservation area of St Peters.

Waldron, St Peters Road - Remove 1No. Bay tree leaving 1m stumps; thin 6No. Cordylines by 50 %; Within conservation area of St Peters.

Maytime, St Peters Road - Removal of 1No. Cypress Leylandii (south boundary). Within conservation area of St Peters.

Craigower, Church Lane - T1 on plan, 1No. Pittosporum - Reduce by approx 2 - 2.5 metres to leave a standing height of approx 5 metres, crown width of approx 3.5 metres and crown lift to 3 metres. T2 on plan 1No. Hawthorn - Reduce top by approx 4 metres and sides by 2.5 metres to leave a standing height of approx 5 metres and crown width of approx 3.5 metres. T3 on plan 1No. Multi Stem Bay - Reduce top by approx 4 metres and sides by 2.5 metres to leave a standing height of approx 5 metres and crown width of approx 2 metres. Remove any dead, crossing or epicormic branches from all above trees to maintain trees at a sensible size, within Conservation Area of St Peter's.

Cranbrook Villa, Copse Lane - Double garage to replace existing single garage.

Fieldside, St Peters Road - Two storey and single storey rear extension to include first floor rear balcony; cladding to first floor elevations. (Revised application).

Homelea, St Peters Road - Single storey rear extension and minor alterations

Craigower, Church Lane - 1No Conifer and 1No Bay reduce top and sides to previous pruning points. Fell 1No Tulip tree. Tress within Conservation Area of St Peter's.

Fernbank House, St Peters Road - Removal of single attached side garage, replacement of front porch, re arrangement of fenestration to side and rear elevations, rearrangement of internal layout and addition of hedged boundary to the front garden

Lilac Cottage, St Peters Road - Proposed single-storey rear and side extensions to include front bay window, fenestration alterations.

Antrims Barn, St Peters Road - Construction of a 3 bay garage. (Revised application).

84A Church Road, Hayling Island - Crown reduce 1No. Oak (T1) by 4m,Reduce height by 4m, remaining height will be 10m Reduce spread to north by 2.5m, remaining spread will be 6m Reduce spread to south by 3m remaining spread will be 6m Reduce spread to east? by 2.5m remaining spread will be 6m Reduce spread to west? by 3m remaining spread will be 6m (see photo for extent of works). Victoria Cottage, Woodgaston Lane - Removal of existing conservatory and addition of single storey front porch, two storey front extension and single storey rear extension. Erection of car port.

Old Workshop, St Peters Road - Erection of garage and wall with associated access to farmyard.
